In the Freeman's Journal of December 31, 1859, names of members of the Diocese of Killaloe appeared to express sympathy with Pope Pius IX. The Document begins:
We, the undersigned, request a Meeting of the Catholics of the County of Clare, to be held in the Catholic Church, Ennis, at One o'clock for the afternoon of WEDNESDAY, the 4th January, 1860 for the purpose of expressing sympathy with His Holiness, The Pope.
The Lord Bishop of KILLALOE has consented to preside at the meeting.
The document is useful from a genealogical viewpoint as it gives lists of names of people for the various parishes, including names for Inagh-Kilnamona. I have transcribed each name exactly as it was printed in the newspaper.
